Our Mission

We aim to provide guests with a quiet environment conducive to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual renewal and to re-connect urban guests to sustainable, rural life using education and recreation.

Who We Are

Tamela and Karen micro farmers

Tamela grew up in a northern Alberta city of about 25,000 people. She enjoys cycling,cross-country skiing, camping, hiking and animals. She’s read extensively about current events, religion, and food security and likes to think, write, dream, or read. This is her first chance at rural life--so far so good!

Karen grew up on a mixed farm in northern Saskatchewan. She enjoys learning, jogging, cycling, cross-country skiing, camping, and hiking. She’s read extensively about outdoor adventure and natural resources. She likes to get down to the practical business (or pleasure)--works hard, plays hard, and likes to get others active.

Together, we’ve decided to become micro-farmers. While living in inner-city Winnipeg and working/volunteering for inner-city organizations, we got hooked on pursuing a gentler way of living, growing, and eating. Actually, Karen has always been hooked; Tamela’s the one who needed convincing!
