Activities on Site
Birding: Summer and winter, our feeders attract a variety of birds, including evening grossbecks, pileated woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and more
Cycling, Summer and Winter: Cycle our land to practice climbs and build quads or hit the grid roads and highways for great scenery and light traffic. Winter cycling is great out here--no salt on the roads. Wonderful, wonderful fun!
Fishing: Folks are welcome to fish, Mallard Lake is stocked with trout. A Manitoba fishing license is required; catch and release only. We can, by special request, take a fish you catch from the lake and cook it up for that lakeside breakfast experience.

Gardening: We have a quarter acre plot, plus greenhouses. If you're garden-space challenged and need a fix, have at her!
Hiking: We have wonderful vistas, trees, hills, and valleys (well, low spots, anyway) to explore. Enjoy the fresh air.
Paddling: Bring your own or borrow our row boat and life jackets. It's very sheltered, so the lake is calm in all but the most windy conditions.
Photography: Landscapes, sunrises and sunsets, animals, flowers...there's plenty to frame!
Skiing: We're developing our own trails. They're quite challenging, but a nice warm-up ski for more advanced skiers.
Snowshoeing: Wow! Can this be great exercise! It's technically much easier than skiing, and affords us time to enjoy the senery and leisurely descents. We have two pairs of snowshoes available.
Stargazing: The light interference is far less out here, so you can see quite a lot with the naked eye. We have guide books, but feel free to bring your own equipment.
Tracking: We have several tracking books and see tracks and sign of many critters year round, including the odd bear!
